There are different ways of having breast augmentation, the most popular of it being cosmetic surgery. With this procedure, implants are placed in the space between the chest wall and the breast tissue to make the breasts look and feel fuller and bigger. This procedure lasts for a long time and although it takes only a while to do, its recovery time is longer since it needs to have the incisions be healed.
These implants may be filled with either silicon or a saline solution. There has even been an ongoing debate on which solution is safe to place inside the implant, saline or silicon. For some women, they prefer using silicon because its movement is very similar to the movement made by the breasts. Its density is right enough to cause a fluid motion that mimics the swaying motion of the breasts. Unfortunately, silicon implants have also been linked to several side effects and complications. There have been infections that have resulted in silicon implants that have gone awry. Sometimes, silicon even leaks into the nearby tissues and this causes inflammation and infection to occur, ending up removing the silicon implant.
With implants with saline solutions, even if it leaks onto the nearby structures, it will not affect it since the tissues are made up of the same concentration and substance as saline. The only danger that arises with saline implants is when it leaks it flattens up leaving uneven sizes of breasts. The remedy to this is to replace the saline solution in the implants or remove them altogether.
Other substances and ways have been introduced that claim to cause an increase in breast size. Creams and lotions that are required to be rubbed on the site several times a day that promise to increase the size by several millimeters to centimeters. There are even medications that claim to cause an increase in the size of the breasts. In fact, it even shows women who have used them and have gotten positive results from it. Unfortunately, for these pills and creams, there has been no specific and solid evidence to prove that it has actually worked in spite of several much publicized testimonies.
Breast augmentation is a procedure that a lot of women undergo in order to get that perfect body statistics. Some even go through it again and again, enduring the pain to be able to make sure that they maintain that perfect body all the time, defying time and age to maintain and extend its life for several more years. But breast augmentation is not for everyone. The expense, the risk, and the time one needs to undergo this procedure are criteria enough to decide whether breast augmentation is right for you or not.
